Provenance: The artist's studio

Carolyn Sergeant studied at Wimbledon School of Art (1955-59) and at the Royal Academy Schools (1959-62) where she was a Silver Medallist. At the Royal Academy Schools she met and later married her fellow student, John Sergeant. Working separately, but taking inspiration from one another, they proved to be a formidable artistic couple. Carolyn had several one-woman exhibitions in London, at the Fine Art Society, Colnaghi, Hazlitt, Gooden & Fox, Waterman Gallery and The Maas Gallery. She specialised in flower studies.
